TelecityGroup is Europe's leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, operating facilities in city locations across Europe. We are expanding capacity in all our markets by building new data centers and expanding existing facilities ensuring we have the capacity to support customer growth.
The Suvilahti data centre is located in a former electricity station. It is a building inside a building situated in the waterfront Suvilahti district of Helsinki, with an easy access to the city centre and Helsinki-Vantaa airport. It offers currently 1,050 square meters (net space) and 1.35 MW of customer capacity. The site is expandable up to a total of 1,300 square metres of net IT space and 3,2 MW of customer capacity. The data centre is based on design principles of the Uptime Institute Tier 3 specification.
The facility is cooled with district cooling produced with cold sea water, heat pumps, and surplus thermal energy from energy generation. Suvilahti provides services in a responsible and cost-efficient manner, following the principles of sustainable development. Suvilahti's unique design is enabled by Helsinki's vast network of man-made tunnels and caves that house much of the city's industrial infrastructure and a huge district heating and cooling systems.
Maintaining premium security is a priority at Suvilahti. The Data Centre area is secured by fences, CCTV surveillance, regular security guard checks and personal access cards. The facility is certified against ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
